We had company over which was lovely. My friends had a nice lunch in my garden while the CCS social worker did her session with Little T inside. She showed me why Little T will pull up in certain places, but not others. It made perfect sense when she explained it, but I'd have to think about on my own. I just took off the patch today, because the nausea was getting to the point where I couldn't ignore it and was causing me stress. I don't need stress. On the plus side, I finished my first draft of my children's book for the New Voices Award. Yesterday we all went to the NICU grad party. The neonatologists are so personable. We saw twins that were Little T's neighbours in the NICU. It was amazing to see how far one had come. Little T seems to prefer the Mic-key to the NG tube. He used to kick his legs and grunt disapprovingly when we first put on the pump at 150ml/hour. Last night he just grinned away. Unfortunately it also seems to give him more gas, so he spits up a lot more ( Read more... )

Yesterday afternoon was so exhausting, I didn't even want to recap it until now. Little T, Special K and I all went to Little T's CCS OT apt. Torin had his second CCS OT apt. In a week, he can sit up more steadily and for longer. He has better balance. The OT feels he will catch up in no time. I'm more cautiously optimistic. We've already learned that his road has many twists and turns ( Read more... )

I'm amazed at how much progress Little T has made with his legs. He kicks a lot and can now bear weight on both legs. He made some good progress towards rolling from front to back with his left arm on top, so he has to use his legs and torso. Right now he roll with his right arm on top, so he can use his left arm as a weight to pull him forward ( Read more... )

K, T and I all went to an Open House of Juana Briones Medical Therapy program. I discovered T's been authorized for occupational therapy(OT) and not physical therapy (PT). He probably needs both. The CCS folks were all very nice, but I found it all rather stressful. I struggled to understand what was going on. It seems like CCS's current position ( Read more... )
